Artist, Illustrator, Designer

Jess King is an Australian artist, illustrator and designer whose practice moves easily between paint, paper and pixels.

Trained in visual communication and with an early career in fashion design, she developed a deep love of textiles, pattern and print that still anchors her work today.

In her light filled Brisbane studio one side is devoted to traditional materials – acrylics, oils, inks and mixed media, while the other hums with digital tools, allowing her to shift fluidly between hand painted originals, surface pattern design and graphic design projects.

Jess’s work often features contemporary florals, birds, everyday objects and stylised landscapes, celebrating colour, pattern and the quiet poetry of domestic life.

Whether creating original paintings, prints or repeat patterns for products, she is driven by a desire to make art that feels welcoming, lived in and deeply connected to the spaces people call home right across Australia and beyond.

Jess holds collections in Australia, New Zealand, Tasmania, England, Africa, Taiwan, Japan and the USA.

Hi Jess! My husband and I have been hunting for a piece of art for our front entrance of our house for literally YEARS. Our parents gave us money for our wedding (nearly 5 years ago) intended to go towards this and we have just never found something we both love enough for such an important space in our house.
